4FashionShae IV 'Quartet in four movements' Spring Summer 2012 | OzonRaw

Wednesday 23rd November, Pallas Theatre, Boukourestiou 5 Spring/Summer 12 4fashionshake is the most important fashion project by OZON RAW that will be held on Wednesday, November 23 at Pallas Theatre. Our wish is to creatively connect fashion with contemporary art, enabling artists and designers from Greece and abroad in order to express new concept and experiment with new means. The concept was approached as a musical quartet in 4 movements. The 4 participants: Shaun Samson from London, Anouk Kruithof from the Netherlands, Eleftheria Arapoglou with Digitaria label from Athens and Vladimir Karaleev from Berlin will share the same stage, while tone, intensity, colors and mediums will be transformed as one movement will lead to the next. At the same time, the schedule is enriched by the on stage presence of the Athens String Quartet, who will perform the music theme chosen for this year's campaign entitled "Quartet in 4 movements." Moreover, Suzie Q.’s and Leo Siboni’s fashion film “Nuptialis: is this real life”, directed for the Mastori*Motwary Studio, that won Diane Pernet’s ASVOFF film festival "Jury Prize", will be projected at the Pallas Theatre screen. Furthermore during 4FASHIONSHAKE IV, the limited edition of the new bottle of Absolut, “Absolut Mode” designed by innovative British designer Gareth Pugh will be officially presented to the public. A few words about the participants:
Shaun Samson
After studying in Los Angeles, California - raised Shaun Samson moved to London to study Menswear at Central St. Martins. Since then, he has collaborated with Jeremy Scott and has become one of the hottest new names of London Fashion Week. Samson’s SS 12 collection is inspired by traditional flamboyant Mexican blankets, creating a new kind of Californian street-wear with grunge influences.
Katie Eary
Katie Eary graduated from RCA in 2008 with an MA in Menswear. The fact that she began her career creating Menswear didn’t stop Roisin Murphy and Kate Moss using Eary’s creations in tours and fashion shoots. Eary’s soft spot is Glamorous Streetwear, which sums exactly the nature of her S/S 12 “ Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” collection, which is inspired by the desert, Vegas, chaos and human instincts creating total looks from gold leather, feathers and animal prints.
Anouk Kruithof
Dutch artist/ photographer Anouk Kruithof won this year’s Prize of the 2011 International Fashion and Photography Hyères festival, impressing the judges with the energy and emotion of her photographic study "The Daily Exhaustion". Her portfolio explores the shades of the human soul and the contemporary social experience, while her new book "A Head Without Wings" is a synthesis of phrases, colors and images taken in Morocco, Egypt, Berlin and Mexico. Athens String Quartet The Athens quartet consists of four leading musicians of the Athens State Orchestra, violists Apollona Grammatikopoulo and Panagiotis Tzioti, violinist Paris Anastasiadis and cellist Isidore Sideris, who have led separate paths in music in the past. The quartet, motivated by the emergence of the works for quartet repertoire that are relatively neglected in our country, aspires to fill this gap.
Vladimir Karaleev
The beloved child of the German Vogue, comes to Athens a few days after the presentation of his collection at Zurich’s Fashion Days of Zurich where he was invited by Vogue and IMG. His SS12 collection entitled “re-formation” that will be presented at 4FASHIONSHAKE IV focuses on modern and subversive silhouettes, diagonally cut silks and satins, smart asymmetries and drapery inspired by geometric patterns; creations that aim to redefine the common perception of the female body’s shape.
The "Digitaria" label presents its collection for SS 12 through the performance “Binary Oppositions”, which is inspired by the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, in an advanced research on relationships of power and authority by deepening the dichotomy of binary opposites. In this way, the hierarchy is overturned, and the absence dominates, resulting in the formation of a visual vocabulary. Digitaria’s collection for SS 12 consists of linen, cotton and knitted fabrics while the prints are created by Panos Papapanagiotou.
The performance has been directed by the artist HOPE, and the music theme will be performed by Etten along with the on-stage appearance of Niadoka.
