Kate Middleton’s Wedding Dress and Tiara

The world witnessed the Wedding of the Century yesterday. And, the most talked about subject was the Wedding Dress of Kate Middleton or shall we call Her Royal Highness Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

Kate Middleton Wedding Dress

She looked absolutely stunning! Her wedding dress was something every girl would dream of! As many did speculate, her beautiful dress was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen’s. The long and sheer veil, the hand embroidered sleeves, and about 6 feet long train – everything about the dress showcased a mix of tradition and modernity.

And, talking about her wedding dress, how can we not talk about the tiara. The tiara that Kate wore is the famous Cartier’s Halo Tiara of queen, borrowed for this special occasion. It was actually made in 1936, and Queen’s Father King George VI (remember The King’s Speech) gifted Queen’s Mother three weeks before he took over the throne. Gifted to the Queen on her 18th birthday.

Set with baguette cut old diamonds, and with its floral formations, the tiara looks absolutely gorgeous. The diamond earrings  that Kate wore on this special day were gifted by her parents and were specially designed to complement the tiara.

Nothing to fall short of a Fairytale Wedding!

Countdown to the Royal Wedding!

Just few more hours left and the world shall witness one of the biggest wedding of the decade. Or we could call it the Royal Wedding of 21st Century. The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton will not only become an important page in history, but an important one in the book of fashion as well.

While I just can’t wait to watch the whole event and bring you the fashion news of jewelry and the tiaras. Here’s something that you might like to look atimage

It is the ‘Instrument of Consent’, a formal document of Queen Elizabeth’s approval of Price William marriage to Kate Middleton. Signed by the Queen herself.

Hair Trends 2011: Plaits and Braids

The plait obsession continues, from complicated forms at Alexander McQueen to classical at Hermès and Valentino.
The fashion world has fallen in love with the plait all over again, women are so lucky if they have long hair. Tried to do a French plait yesterday and looked very irregular, need a bit of practice. There are so many different ways to wear it! Celebs show us how it’s done for evening wear to the one side. Also there is the messy way with only one or two plaits and the favourite look is a long plait to the side.

Let's see the gallery "how to wear Plaits and Braids this season":

Kate Hudson Engaged!

It sure is season of weddings and engagements. While the most awaited royal wedding of the year is to happen tomorrow, here is another great news – Our much loved actress Kate Hudson is engaged to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy.

Hudson confirmed the news on the Today Show yesterday after Matt Lauer asked about the giant rock sparkling on her hand.

Ah, the ring, its been reported that the center stone is about 9 carats, emerald cut set in a white metal, probably platinum.

Their plan for the wedding takes a back seat with Kate expecting a baby in few months.

Bhutan

The Kingdom of Bhutan is one place I am absolutely anxious to visit. Tucked in the Himalayas, it is one of the least touched by modernity countries on Earth. Bhutan, known as the "Last Shangri-La" is also the only remaining Buddhist state in the area (Tibet having been taken over by China and Sakkim by India). Its government is very serious about preserving the country's cultural integrity and tourism is strictly regulated - last year less than 25,000 tourist visas were issued. In its capital of more than 100,000, there are no traffic lights, no plastic cups, no ATMs, no smoking, no advertising. What there is plenty of, is color..

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone enjoyed their Holiday! I had such a great time, got together with some friends and enjoyed an authentic Bulgarian Easter, complete with all the traditional dishes, desserts, and drinks. I also had the chance to premier a new piece I had been working on - the ruffle organza top pictured below. It's so airy and dreamy, I'm quite excited about it. Promise to post more pictures of it soon!

Angelina Jolie launches ‘The Style of Jolie’ Jewelry Collection

If you love to keep up with the latest fashion and are somewhat of a jewelry lover like me, then surely Angelina Jolie’s jewelry must be something that would always leave you awed. She has a very classy taste in jewelry and this can very well be seen by each piece of jewelry that she is seen wearing. The emerald earrings that she wore at the Oscars became an instant rage among jewelry loving women.

Jolie diamond choker from the tourist

Angelina Jolie recently collaborated with her friend and famous jewelry designer Robert Procop to put forth ‘The Style of Jolie’ jewelry collection. The proceeds of the sale would go to her foundation to help the Children of Conflict.

'The Style of Jolie' Jewelry Collection

The collection includes Diamond Choker that Jolie wore in The Tourist, green beryl earrings that she wore at the NYC premier, and many other fine gemstone jewelry.

Jolie had partnered with Robert Procop in past when Brad Pitt and she had produced the 'Protector collection at Asprey’.

Gray Skies

I love, love, love this skirt! A tutu.. of sorts, but much more wearable. It will see lots of wear as soon as the weather warms up. And I'll definitely have to make myself one in black and one in white as well.

So what do you guys think?

P.S. See it in my Etsy here.

Its April – The Month of Diamonds!

We women really do not need a reason to love our diamonds. Just the fact that these brilliant gemstones are called diamonds make them our best friends. And, we can’t  complain if men think that we are obsessed with it. ‘Coz its the ugly truth .. want to show us your love, show us the diamonds.

April birthstone diamond

The reason I am going on and on about diamonds is that .. Its April! The Month of Diamonds!. And, even though I am not an April born myself, I am very much looking forward to getting myself a pair of small diamond earrings, or may be a pendant – after all, it is the birthstone of this month.

So go ahead my dear ladies, treat yourself to a beautiful diamond this month because you deserve it. And all the gentlemen out there, shower that special woman in your life with a piece of diamond jewelry. It need not be a big one (not that we would mind big), but just a token to say you lover her, to say that you care :)
